    Let's start this again..

    Op's i posted in the wrong board ( slap my wrist )
    As i hang my head in shame and admit that i'm a newbie to the forms and discussion boards.

    As i shake the dust off and climb back into my chair lets hope i can to better next time.

    As far as the game it still wouldn't run. So here's what ive done...

    As i mentioned the game played fine in my other box.

    Same os Window XP Pro
    Radeon 8500
    SB Adugiy Gamer

    Things that i changed

    MB asus P4t533
    Intel 2.4 P4
    Memory 4200 32 bit Rbus 512 MB

    I've formated the drive and reloaded Win Xp
    loaded Xp updates
    Loaded ATI's lastest drvs as of firday 13 ( bad omen )
    Loaded the lastest SB Drv

    Reloaded Civ3
    then loaded patch 1.29f

    Ran for about 8 mins and crashed...no error that i could see just reboots back to xp start.

    I called the help line 30 mins latter was told it was a strange problem try calling ati....

      If XP is rebooting that sounds like a hardware problem.

      XP normaly can end a rogue program without the whole system crashing to a reboot. You may have a bad memory module. You may be overheating.

      Are you overclocking?

      Do you have the latest drivers and bios for your motherboard?

      They can be found here I think based on the motherboard number you gave. Be sure its the right one there is a variant the ASUS P4T533-C .

      Try some other programs that are processor intensive. Try a benchmark routine and see if it can run for a while. Both a CPU intensive benchmark and a Video bench.
