  • 1.29 patch problems

When I enter the Industrial age my game crashes. It is really annoying. Has anybody else had this problem.
Another problem I'm having is when a city finishes building an item, it automatically starts producing another item and doesn't automatically give me the window to set production. I do not have a queue set for these cities. It is really annoying when you have 30 cities not producing what you want them to.

Only people with corrupted files or are using Modified games.

If you aren't using a mod then

    Unistall Civ III
Delete the Civ III folder to make sure its all gone
(you may or may not want to copy the saves and other items to a safe place)
    Reinstall Civ III
    Run the patch

    Play the game.

Go to the city screen, any city screen, hit the G key to bring up the Governor. Set the governor to not controll things and set it to All Cities instead of This City. Then click the Default for New Cities button and then the OK button.

It did it to me and IT IS annoying. I had all the governor stuff turned off then I reinstalled and had to reset that stuff again. I set the cities to only build improvements and not units or wonders.

If the City Name has a white box around it the Governor is running things.
