graphics/idea people needed for massive project!
I'm planning on reworking most, if not all, of Civ 3's graphics and text to make a new game with all of Civ 3's basic concepts.
The game - lately I've been calling it "Urbanization" - would be best described as a strategy crime sim. The civs would be a corrupted police force, power-hungry megacorporations, and gangs, all battling for control of a city.
The city, however, takes up the entire map. "Cities" the way we know them in Civilization III would become known as Bases, and "Capitals" would be Centers of Operation(be it a Gang HQ, Police Department, or Corporate Offices).
Terrain graphics would be toally redone to reflect a city environment at night. With pawn shops, porno theaters, drugstores, and plenty of places to rob(harvest?), it would definitely give the game the appearance of a city.
Resources and Luxuries would also change entirely. Some suggestions I've had are for cars, weapons, explosives, and of course various types of drugs.
I've been concentrating mostly on the Gang aspect, although the other two, Police and Corporation, would require just as much work. I've created a list of Base Improvements for the Gangs, as well as some units for the Gangs and Police. Here's the list so far:
