  • Interface changes - preview

I´m doing some interface changes for civ3 to reach a more "ancient" look in a greek-roman style. Currently I´ve finished the graphic files for diplomacy, minimap and infobox, and the terraininfo pop up. This should be helpful esp. for ancient mods, but it looks also nice in the standard game.

Here´s a preview screen, zipfiles are in the following posts:

First file - new art for minimap and infobox

    Installation:

    BACKUP the files...

    box left color.pcx
    box left alpha.pcx
    box right color.pcx
    box right alpha.pcx
    GlobalWarming.pcx

...which are in the folder Civ3/Art/Interface/

UNZIP the attached file "boxes.zip" into the folder Civ3/Art/Interface/ - done.

Without backups, you have to reinstall Civ3 to get back the original graphics!

Third file - new art for scroll bars, terrain info box etc.

        Installation:

        BACKUP the files...

        TileInfo.pcx
        scroll.pcx

...which are in the folder Civ3/Art/

UNZIP the attached file "TileInfo.zip" into the folder Civ3/Art/ - done.

I see those files as "beta" files, they worked without problems on my machine, but I plan to implement more changes in the future. Hope you´ll like them

          Next step: new city screen

          Previewpic: http://www.civ2000.civ2.gamigo.de/civ3gfx/civ3gui04.jpg

Please note: the changed icons you can see in the pic (shields, money) are currently not included, because I want to change the rest of the icons too before I release these gfx. For now its only the city screen itself...

          Installation:

          BACKUP the files...

          background.pcx
          BottomFadeBar.pcx
          BottomFadeBarAlpha.pcx
          ProButton.pcx
          TopFadeBar.pcx
          TopFadeBarAlpha.pcx

...which are in the folder Civ3/Art/City Screen/

UNZIP the attached file "background.zip" into the folder Civ3/Art/City Screen/ - done.

Although I prefer the current look, I have to say your changes are very well done!
