  • Help me: unit's property "nuclear weapon"

    I am making new mod "The nuklear mutants" and i need to set property of unit as artillery that fires nukes. I set Manh. proj. cost 1, no requirments, set to warior prpoperty nuclear and bombard and starting to test. But the warrior completly dont shot (button disabled). What to do?

    I believe someone needs to build the Manhatten Project to enable Nuclear Weapons.

      I can't check right now to see if this is right.
      You gave it a bombard stregth and range right, did you give it the bombard ability? (turns on the button)

      In the editor check the help it says what is needed to turn on ai strategys you may need some of the same things for it to work in game.
      Was gone for two years, I'm back now.

        All the following done but i have 2 problems:
        Even with checking ai flag "taktical nuke" Ai use it as warrior.
        It acts as fire and forget weapon and i don't want so.

        In attachment curent version of mod. Main changes:
        Warriors are nuklear.
        You cannt build workers, you get them from barbarian camps.
        Dependence expiriense-HP changed.

        Vote my mod.

          Oops, sorry. I should have read your post a little more carefully. Let me see if I understand you correctly: you want the warrior to shoot like artillery (with a ranged attack), but have a nuclear blast effect instead of a normal ranged attack. And you don't want the warrior to disappear after attacking? AFAIK, giving a unit the nuclear property will make it disappear, just like the ICBM or Tac Nuke would.

              Here are a couple of ideas/thoughts:

              If you want the AI to use the Nuke Warrior as a Tac Nuke instead of a Warrior, try giving it an Attack and Defense Rating of 0 (if you haven't already done so).

              Another thing I've noticed is that the Barbarian AI doesn't seem to know how to use bombardment attack. I added a Terrorist unit once that acted as a Cruise Missile and was set as the advanced barbarian unit (for a modern mod I was working on). The Barbarian AI never used it...it just sat on the Barbarian Camp. So, if you're using the Nuke Warrior as a Barbarian, that may be part of the problem as well.

                No if I uncheck the flag "Offence" in AI strategy AI never builds it and if both "offense" and "Tac nuke" flags are checked AI use it as warrior.
