  • Text and/or Font trouble

After a recent game crash, none of the text (including the initial [new, load, hall, exit etc.] screen) is correct anymore. Now, it's all choppy and 'unsmooth' looking. In the game, it looks worse...barley readable, pull downs are longer and choppy, etc. Even the 'warmup' screens look taller or something.
I even uninstalled and reinstalled both the game and the patch! Nothing helped. It has been fine up until this point.
    Please help. Any suggestions?

No problems with other applications? Did you reboot the computer?
After deinstalling the game, try to completely remove the entire directory.

Oh - I remember this problem. I think Captain made a thread about it ages ago. I forget how it's fixed though. One solution was to delete some of the fonts on your computer; I can't remember what the other one was.

No other probs with any other apps. Yes, rebooted it. Had removed entire directory. Will try again I guess. It's Always been flaky. Had squirrely text initially but the patch fixed it (the first time) and has been fine unitl this recent deal.

        Later that day...
Redid it all again. Same thing. Funky text. Really ticked off at this point. Who is this Captain? Didn't see his 'ages ago' thread.
Was all fired up and waiting for PTW. Now, may just trash this one and put it on ebay. Game's always had a mind of its own (lots of crashes, etc.) Go back to playing something that actually works.
