Crash

Anyone confirm this thing bombs out after this turn? I'm playing around on this checking out modified goods and techs and other items, but the damn thing is bombing out at the end of this turn and I want to make sure it ain't just me...

It doesn't even load on my PC! It goes up to something like 20%, then blacks out and shuts down CivIII to finally go back to Windows!

Man, is this still fun to play?

It will load on my PC and it will not crash. I am attaching a savegame created at the beginning of the next turn.

The only reason I can think of is how much memory you and others have. My PC has 1 gig and it may be why it is able to handle even such a gigantic thing like yours.

I am playing with the latest 1.21f patch installed, The OS is WinXP Professional (guys, I love this OS!)

It doesn't load on my PC (Athlon XP 1800+ with 512 MB RAM under WinXP) ; Civ III (1.21f) crashes at 37%.

Same configuration except that I only have half RAM; but Venger's save game is littler than all mine (only 111 KB against 159 KB for my littlest).

Playing 1.21f - customized BIC though. I've added some resources and some units, and one tech. That's it.

Vondrack - uh, the next turn should be like 590BC, as the Romans...what's up with what you posted?

Thankfully, Civ3 has no logging or diagnostic to examine, so I'm just left with a game that doens't work. Thanks Firaxis.

Apparently, it will crash while loading on a standard 1.21f load - I tried it and it crashes at 37% it seems - which seems a popular number for crashes.

Needless to say, this sucks. I decided to give Civ3 another shot when I saw all the new units people had developed, but lo and behold, it doesn't work right anymore...sigh, so upsetting...

The reason it crashes on other people's comps is most likely that you use some graphics in your mod that they don't have installed. (most likely the added unit).

So you would have to provide your mod for us to test the save game.
