Paratroopers... Helicopters?

I have Advanced Flight, i have all the needed strategic resources, but i still cant build Helicopters or Paratroopers. They arent even in the list of buildable units/buildings.

Do i need to do something special to get them, or is there something wrong?

You need to push ctrl-alt-shift+A while doing the funky chicken dance to be able to build these "advance units"

All kidding aside, If you have the required adv and resources then you should. Check the civilopidia.

I have checked the Civlopedia.
It didnt give me any answers.

Both requires oil and rubber in the strategic box of a city to be abale to make 'em. Make sure you have both and advance flight.

I've got oil and rubber, Ive got advanced flight, but they still dont show up in the build list.

Well, i've run out of ideas.

Are you using the latest patch or not? It might be a bug, i don't know.

You're not missing much though.

When you say you have oil and rubber does that mean you have roads going to them and the city you're trying to build them in is connected? Are you playing a mod?

I've solved the problem.

The first several times i tried to build Paratroopers, it was in a Huge Earth Scenerio. That time I think it was a glitch or bug or something, because i had rubber and oil connected, and i had Advanced Flight.

The most recent time i tried, i had oil and rubber connected, but because i didnt think i could build choppers and paratroopers, i skipped Advanced Flight. Then i forgot i skipped it and tried to build them again.

And now that i can build them, i am thouroughly disapointed with their performance and strength. It was quite a waste of effort.

You can mod them two units , I did. Otherwise they are pretty much useless.

Up the 'copters transport capacity, and maybe increase the paratroopers statistics to the same as infantry
