Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
What exactly are patches? They obviously improve CIV3 cos so many people talk about them, but how do they do this? Which patch/patches should I use and where do get them from?
Please educate me!
Cheers, Nick
I noticed we didnt answer part of your question. So just in case you havent downloaded and installed 1.21, heres a brief blurb.
Patches contain fixes to known bugs/problems etc. For example, air defense didnt work in the original version 1.0 (?). That bug was fixed in the first patch (along with other stuff). So from that perspective patches are important.
The other thing that patches do is to add and remove game elements in order to "improve" the game. This is where there are problems. Different people like and dislike different elements of the game so changing things quietens one group of discontented players but activates another.
Some people dont like the patches, others do, and still others dont think they go far enough. The game can be played without the patches so I would suggest you do that for a short while then upgrade to v1.21 and try it again.
certain elements in your version don't work as intended, or even not at all!!!
have fun
