  • How do I enable lethal bombing?

For the 121f patch it says you can enable lethal bombing. How do I do that? I haven't played with the editor at all, so can someone be kind enough to list the steps??? Thanks.

    • click on rules
    • edit rules
    • units
    • select from the list the unit you want to give lethal bomabrd to (i.e. Artillery)
    • look for the box "unit abilities"
    • scroll down till you see "lethal sea/land bombardment"
    • rinse and repeat with every unit you want to add this feature

You can add this to every unit that has bombardment abilities "Artillery units, ships and aircraft"

      mod only?

Is there any way to enable lethal bombing for random maps that civ makes, or is it just available to maps you make and save?

If you don't click on "generate map", the changes you make only affect the rules. You will still be able to select different map types, civs, etc. when you load your scenario in civ3.

          Lethal Bombardment

          Giovanni Wine,

In your instructions to enable Lethal Bombardment, you said to click on 'Rules'....

Where do you find 'Rules' on which to click?

You can edit your civ3mod.bic, and then it will affect all normal games, and maps (with no rules) played on.

Thanks for the info. I found where to find the option. However, once I enabled it, my saved games don't seem to be affected.

Are saved games affected by the same civ3mod.bic file, or is there another one I have to edit?

                Nope, not since 1.21f.

The civ3mod.bic are the default rules, so changing them will change every game that uses the default rules - that's most of them

Every game using the default rules started before 1.21f. Sinc 1.21f the rules are saveed in every game.

So if I understand it correctly:
If you change the civ3mod.bic file, it will affect all games that I start afterwards, but the already saved 1.21 games will still have the old rules?
