  • Units for the Period 1400 to 1900

Maybe its possible to make some units for that long period of time?

Some Grenadiers, Husars, Cuirassiers or even Infantry...

Because now we have that Musketeers and the rifleman only (unit about 1850).

And a Cannon for the starting age of gunpowder...

That can fill that gap because we have now a lot of units for ancient and medival on one side and for modern age on the other side. But in europe the years between are even important and also filled with war...

    thanks

I cant find units ther to use as pictures for Civ III
Maybe I was not clear enough:
I know a lot about units, but I cann't make animated Units for Civ...
Do someone know where to find units - I know all of the units gramphos collectet in his file (Thanks!) and added some of them, but I find some on a polish page and I would like to have some of them in my game....

I'm trying to imply that is you want to play 1400 to 1900 (or 1419 to 1820), this is the game to play. I used to play civ, and now i see that EU is much better. For example, rather than 16, you have over 100 differnet countries to play as. And you don't even have to put up with nuking fortified pike men

The thing that bugs me is that the whole world throws a fit if you annex anything... bah... that and you can't combine armies during a siege. I also want to play Prussia from the beginning, even if it is only (literally) Prussia.

As far as units, in reality, there really weren't that many in that era. There were many forms of musketmen, most weren't better than their predecesors. Cannons were basically... cannons. They fired a ball of various size, ranging from 6 to 18 pounders which did the same thing... flew across the landscape hoping to hit something. Cavalry was limited to Curassiers, Lancers and Carbine armed cavalry. Grenadiers would be a good improvement though (which I already added ).

If i am using rifleman (or cavalry) pictures for all of them it workes, but I like to see husars, ciurassiers even Ulans on my battlefields...
Maybe someone can make nice units for that...

btw: how can I add text and pictures to my name in that forum?
