ive edited the rules so i can play through quick games with it. About 510BC the game stops responding. Another game i had it got to 410BC and the game would crash.

    whats going on?

And what rules did you edit?

I once changed the civ colors in the editor and the game crashed because I had two civs with the same colors (that was with the previous patch, though). Maybe you changed some settings that contradict each other (can't think of any right now, but I guess it's possible)?

i changed stuff that would make it go a little faster.

like settlers can move 3 spaces and reduced the population requirements for them and also the sheild requirements. Each citizen in the town produces 10 gold, 10 science, and 10 happiness. turn science down to minimum of 1 turn, maximum 10 turns...I can't remember what else.

Also i made the french everything---militaristic, industrialous, commerical, religous, scientific, and expasnionist.

I'm not sure, but maybe it has to do with your science speed.

Normally it would take you 40 turns to research a tech that nobody else has yet. It becomes less when you invest more in science, when other civs have discovered the tech already or when you have libs / universities.

If you massivly speed up research and increase science output of the cities with the editor, you might end up with the situation that the turns for getting a tech becomes zero or negative and that might crash the game.
Just a thought, but maybe it helps.
