  • Slow animation for Civ 3

Hi, When playing civ 3 i experience very slow performance with the animation of the units... i called their tech support and they were unable to help, though believed it had something to do with my sound card.

i have dled the latest patch for the game.

    My computer is a pent 3 1000mzh
sound blaster pci512 sound card (with latest driver)
Nvidia Ge2 MX video card (latest driver)
    256 SDRAM

I tried the game on WinXP and my linux (niether worked, and the Xp compatibility option did not help).

When i turn the sound to NoSound=1 the game performs correctly, but i have no sound...

If any other information would help pls ask, and suggestions/solutions would help, thx Mike.

Do you have the graphic acceleration up for the game. I always use the middle setting for my card, that way it works with other programs and the game - although the game is suppose to be set to the fastest setting - all the way to the right.
Right click - My Computer. Tab is Peformance - Graphic command button - setting has to be middle or higher. Although it will work at the lowest setting, the graphics will be jerky.

          Again, anyone found a solution?

I have been having this problem as well, it means I play Civ3 very little (not too much of a problem to someone who has EU2 )
