  • Kicked to Desktop as Computer Starts its Move

Bah - just as I thought I was finally winning on deity this happens.

CIVILIZATION3 caused a divide error in module CIVILIZATION3.EXE at 0167:0044a0c2.

    Running on AMD xp1400, 512 ram, win98.
    Geforce2 32megs graphics.

Constant fault on reloading the saved position. Error occurs just as the computer starts it's move.

Huge map, 16 starting civs. Year of error 1892 (all techs discovered).

Have tried loading all the latest sound/graphics drivers as per the common faults in win98 threads (and turning off graphic acceleration).

Any suggestions to overcome this greatly appreciated.

Woops - should have said using 1.21f. My bad.

I take it this didn't happen with previous patches?

Don't know if it would have happened with previous patches. First time I have come close to finishing a deity game.

I can say I have never been consistently booted in the early stages of a game under either 1.17f or 1.21f.

Thought it might be a memory issue (win98 being leaky and all that). But boot happens on restart and reload as well.

        Thanks for interest and input
