hoping someone can help me out . just started 3rd game , and I havent been able to build special military units ( F-15's , Immortals , Legionaire )in ANY of the games I've played yet . I am always advanced enough on the tech tree and have the necessary resources connected via road / rail . seems as though it could be a problem with a game file , which would suck because I know nothing about game programs . any help would be greatly appreciated . if this helps, I have installed all 3 patches .

also , is there a link somewhere to ask Firaxis a question such as this ?

Ok, you obviously figured it out, but I am curious what the issue was...

I thought the problem was that I didnt have the "civ specific abilities" box checked . but then I started a new game ( Romans , Chieftain ) with my son , making sure to check the box . we researched Iron Working , connected an iron source with road , and guess what.................no freakin' Legionaires ! I am stumped . any ideas ?

Are you playing with the latest patch? I don't think that would be the problem, but it might be....

Also, trade works a bit oddly in Civ3; you have to connect a city to the capital for any resources or luxuries to get to said city. The problem may be that the resource is not adaquatly distributed throughout your empire...
