  • UTILITY: Hacked Civ3edit.exe v1.21f

Here's a hacked 1.21f version of the editor to show the add and delete buttons.

Please backup your original before using this one and remember the add and delete are not officially supported by Firaxis so don't go bothering them if they don't work properly.

    Cheers.
    James.

This is just what I was looking for! Gramphos' Copy Tool is good for adding units you've created yourself since it created the .ini file for you (you just have to edit it a bit rather than starting from scratch); this is better for adding other people's units since they already have the ini file.

    Brilliant work!

I have a stupid question. What are add and delete buttons and what can I do with them? Can I add or delete units, buildings, cities, etc. at will during a game, kind of like the cheat option in CTP?

This utility replaces the standard CivEdit, and allows you to add new units. buildings, resources, etc. to the basic game. It is not a cheat utility.

                crashes

Trying to add a new unit, of any kind, only crashes my game. It doesn't give an error or anything, just if you click on the unit in the build queue, the program exits back to the desktop.

But it's one amazing blessing for adding resources. Thanks!

                  green_athena,

i think you should create a folder with the necessary files in civ3/art/units for the new units.

And make sure that the *.ini file has the same name as the folder's name

This is why I'm waiting for the official editor with PTW.
