• UNIT: T34/75 finished! now available as a usable unit.

Her it is the Russian T34/75 with a short barrel, this is the early version of the tank from the sharp end of the war (41 -43)
I may work on the t34/85 (86?) with a change of colour perhaps, but right now I have my hands full with loads of other projects. so here it is:
Create a file called T34 in your CivIII/Art/units folder place every thing from the zip in it (apart from units32.pcx which just goes in the Art folder (it has the small icon used for the build list, also in there is my Churchill/crocodile, a project just days from completion)
As of the moment there is no Civlopedia txt or large Icon I will include this either when I finsh the T34 with Big gun or with the crocodile.

Here is part one of the Zip

And Part Two, stick it in with part one in the T34 folder and then add a new unit in the civ editor

Enjoy!

Could we have a preview?

Here is a picture of the T34 (the green one) the brown one is the t34/85, well on the way to completion. I am not sure but from pictures taken on the eastern front the T34 was often used as troop trasport ( the extended back is quite large and an exelent platform for troops) I am thinking of placing a couple of infantrymen on the back.
For the records the smaller gun is the 76mm, so this thread should be the T34/76 not 75

How the heck do you add units anyway?

With patch 1.17 you could add units by going to edit units in the editor (civ edit) pressing tab untill you get to rename and then press alt- A, that would add a unit, you would have to name it the same as the file you wanted to add.
The new patch has disabled this fuction, but you can download a copy of the hacked editor for the new patch, or use the old patch to add units and then install the new patch to edit them.
the version of Civ III that comes out of the box does not feature this fuction, you can download a hacked editor for the 1.16, but it would be quicked to down load the second patch.

It is all very complicated, especialy compared to the old Civ II.
(the numbers of the patches I have quoted here are guesses, I don't have that info on me)

Next time you post a new version of anything, update the old thread (just found the old one for this.)

*Looks closer*
What game is that from?
It looks kind of like a T-34/85 from Panzer General.

Haven't tried it yet, but it looks good in the pic and you've obviously put some work into it. One thing: there is no "units32.pcx" file included in either zip.

Why yes, they are CivII gfx. They are not made by myself, but rather Captain Nemo.

It is hard to watch WWII fans struggle with only one or two WWIIunits for this game with no actuall way to even have a WWII scenario in the real sense of the term.

Currently, there is of course an exhaustive set of units and various gfx for CivII. For you guys I don't know if it is worth taking a unit like this and adapting it to a CivIII platform. All I know is that it look alot more like a T-34/76 than the above CivIII unit. Then of course there is the T-26, T-28, Bt-7, Kv's 1 and 2, T-34/85, IS' 1 and 2's etc etc.

If you were able to convert these CivII units to CivIII, then you too would have this exhaustive list of units at your disposals for when/if CivIII becomes able to handle true scenarios.

As it appears that a few of you haven't seen the available CivII sets yet, here is only one artist's collection of Soviet WWII AFV's. Now, image this set ready to roll into a game of CivIII. I am simply wondering if this is possible???

Those are nice.

The tank in Civ III looks like a stinkin' Stuart, and the Panzer looks like a weird hybrid between a Pz kpfw IIIe and a T34.
