  • UNIT: Priest / Missionary

Here is my first unit from AoE, complete with Walk/Run, Default and Death anims, I still have the capture to do, which I shall post tomorrow.

Civ colours are present in the unit.

This unit still needs sounds and civlopedia text if any one wants to create them.

    And problems just shout.

    Cheers.
    James.

Unfortunately, I cant see the bmp with this pc.

Did you convert these animations with your editor? If so, can you please give a rough breakdown of the procedure so we dont have to start from scratch (ie import unit animation into psp or animation studio, save as ......, convert to flc with...)

      Thanks.
We need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

I'll get the BMP converted to a jpg soon, I did convert this unit with my editor but not with the that is currently released. And I don't intend on releasing it, I only made it so that I could convert the units. But I will be going through all of the AoE units and converting them.

Are you planning on posting these over on Civfanatics? If not do you mind if I do.

Thats too bad that you dont want to release the new editor. I had in mind using animations from other RTS games besides AOE(gettysburg, warcraft, kohan, etc).

At the moment it's kinda hardcoded that it only works for AoE, since it moves palette colours around and other stuff.

I would need graphics from other games to test to make sure it worked, and I have none of the games that you mention.

Looks interesting, but how will the unit be used?
Maybe it could be another Leader type unit, or an explorer that is
invisible (like a land sub, with the flag checked) and also has see
invisible flags to see other priests.. though a priest would then see a submarine too- maybe best for a medival scenario sim.

It would make a good wizard unit too.. for fantasy games, like Lord of the Rings.

Keep up the good editing work jimmy, I'm still interested in helping you on that Scenario editor.
