    I've been playing with adding changing techs. It seems to play fine but when I end the turn from the original or autosaved game I get:

    More info:

    I previously added a tech with the editor and it seemed to work fine (I recall there were some glitches but they worked out) with a new game. This time I've renamed chemistry to alchemy and changed the prerequisites etc. I've also been making other tech prerequisite changes and moving the tech tree around to fit with those changes.

    When you add a technology the game will crash whenever you view the technology in the civilopedia with the highest number icon. It just so happens to go in alphabetical order (though the alphabet has nothing to do with it) leaving Writing to be the one that will lock up the game if viewed.

    The way you fix this is edit Writing in the Editor and change the icon down by at least one. Simple, isn't it? But this will allow you to add techs flawlessly, but you cannot currently add new icons. You will need to do this for each tech you add, I believe, so that limits the maximum number of techs that can be added to 82. Screwy that multiple techs have to use the same icons, but at least you can add them now!
    I've seen this post by plutarck but I havent had this particular problem. It does seem to be relevant though since I have 83 techs. Is this related to why my icons are screwy?

      I'm having a great conversation with myself . I tried Plutarcks remedy and it works. The game was crashing when I discovered writing instead of when viewing writing in the civilopedia.
      We need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

          Its a really stupid bug eh! You can add techs but the icons get all screwed up.
