  • how do i change optimal number of cities?

i guess everybody knows this but me. i would like to change the optimal number of cities, but i do not know how to edit either the number of cities or the culture linkage at startup. i searched through the preference list but could not find it there. i also looked in the editor and could not find it. i opened the file through the "my computer" c- drive prompt and i could still not find where to adjust this. what am i doing wrong and how can i fiddle with the optimal number of cities and cultural links? any help would be appreciated.
so long and thanks for all the fish

it tells how to change optimal number of cities, so thanks, but it doesn't explain the cultural link thing. can somebody explain that to me?

Culturally Linked Starting Locations option can be found in the Preferences section of the Civ3 Main Screen (the one where you load or start a game).

3rd from the bottom with 1.17f (I don't know if this has changed with patches.)

If you look in the editor under Civilizations, you'll see that every civ has been assigned to a particular cultural group, which you can change if you like. I don't really bother with it myself, it doesn't really seem that it would add much to the game. I think it's mainly there for realism sake.
