bic file edit - crash

I wanted to create a custom scenario and used the hacked editor to rename The Race - The Cities and The Leaders.

I saved the bic file as something else and tried to load it via the scenario screen but it crashes at the point when the game is due to start.

I couldnt find a post with reference to this and was wondering if someone could point me to one (or in the right direction)
