  • MOD: Unsettling - The Anti-ICS mod.

This is an anti-ICS mod with a vengeance. See what you think of this.

It is a standard game except that you cannot specifically build settlers. You can only get them from goody huts or through unit promotion beyond elite as all leaders now double as settlers!

Wow. Interesting concept. Might make explorers useful, too. Anyone played a game through yet ?

Wow, really interesting concept. I will be interested to know how it pans out. My only concern is won't this make the tech tree go too slowly? You might have to balance the slower science and everything by decreasing the number of turns it takes to reach the advances. Just a thought!

          Hmmmmm

Interesting concept... wait others already said that. Another thing you would have to balance out is the huge advantage that gives to Militaristic Civs, who generally get more leaders & the more aggressive Civs would get more elite units.

Well, militaristic and expansionists would have a nice advantage.

Hmmm...I might have to give everyone the militaristic capability. However, if you play non-militaristic that could be seen as an extra challenge to those of you who want one.
I may also need to speed up the technology, however I'm curious to find out what changes are being made in the next patch before I make too many changes to mods.

Yeah, I am curious about the next patch myself. I don't want to get too far ahead of myself.

Don't you think that makes the game:

                  a) heavily based on random chance (# of goody huts I find and number of those that are settlers, as well as the number of leaders I manage to generate)

                  b) primarily a military slugfest (every opportunity to fight I'll take, especially since every captured enemy city and every leader I generate is worth it's wieght in gold).

In such a game I would play only the Aztecs or the Zulus, and it would be over very quickly...

how much of a slugfest would it really be, given that each civ only has one city to build units (except the ones they conquer or ones built from leaders)?
