Help with maps

I was wandering if I have a map from before the 1.17 patch, if I install the patch will the map be unchanged. Because according to the readme it changes were some resources can be placed. So if I install the patch will these resources be deleted from the map. Please help as I like the map I made

The map will be unchenged, but you can't place new resources on the terrains where they could be placed before.
