  • The chanses for a specific unit appearing from a hut when availiable to Barbarians.

Anyone have observed anythig on this issue?

From what I've senn from very simple testing you can ony get a unit if you have the advance required, and the hut is connected to the resource needed for that unit. That makes horsemen relly rare from huts, have anyone else obserevd anything else?

Also, it seems as there might be a value for how good the unit is when deciding what unit you get (I tend to get more Warriors then horsmen, even with a horse placed under each hut, and startying with horsbackriding).

    Anyone knows anything else?

I don't know just how it works, but I can report what my experience has been:

Playing as the Americans, Lots of Barbarians, Pangia, Huge World, all the Civs playing and PRE patch 1.17 - I often got 1 or 2 warriers, 5-6 techs, and 10 or so barbarians. (average game)

After 1.17 I have only played one game as above, I got 12 or so techs, 1 warrier, 2 spearmen, an army & 2 settlers.

The army was quite a surprise!!! Also, I think I only had one or 2 settlers in all of my games prior to 1.17. I don't think I have ever seen a horseman. What was the biggest surprise after 1.17 was that I had NO barbarians come out and kill my scouts, although I did loose one that ended up a little to close to an encampment on the end of its turn.... I had so many techs that I jumped into the next era after researching only 2 on my own.

ps great job on the multitool. I haven't used it much, but from what I have seen it must have taken a lot of work to set it up. Thanks for doing it!!!

    Peace

The reason why armies pop up i that they were made availiable to the Barbarians in the first version of the 1.17f patch, and as they don't require anything thay can form directly. Also if the chanse depends on the unit stats settlers and armies would be the most ommon units as they by them self heve niether defense nor offense.

That makes sence about the armies and settlers being common if it was based upon stats. As they did appear as much as military units that might be how it does work. I wonder how we could check this out?

Itried to make a map with many huts, but got tired of poping them, especially since the "moding on" bug.

I can see how that would get old fast. Tomarow is the first day in a couple of months that I have free, and one of the first things I intend to do is sit down and play a game or two. I'll do some fiddling and see if I can come up with anything else.
