With this corruption setting for a govt. (Communism has it already i beleive), is the corruption editable, ie, can you have minimal corruption aswell as comunal? or does it have to be crippling (or what ever the highest amount is).

i agree completely! It would be great if we could select 2 models, either a communal or a centralized model, then varying levels of each.
as it is now, unless your civ is just completely spread across the world communal corruption is worse than anything but catastrophic

Yes I'm afraid that the options for communal corruption are limited at the moment, but not out of the question. For instance, Communism doesn't get a trade bonus from it's squares, so a Socialist gov could have that ability. Plus a higher worker rate. Another approach is to increase the cost of units in Democracy to 2, and have a Socialist gov at 1, but with no free support like in Communism. I'm not sure how that would work out, but it is another approach. And with gov specific buildings now supposedly working properly there's some possibilities that way. So don't give up hope yet, just use your imagination!Originally posted by The Andy-Man
well, there go my plans to have a marxist socialism (ie, a properly implemented communism).
i wanted high work rate, low corruption socialist govt, kinda a cross between demcracy and commie, but better.
PS you should pay a visit to this thread, a few of us are trying to come up with some gov specific building ideas.

well, what i was gonna do was have a highwork rate (no unemployment in a socialist state, thus higher work rate also the govt. focuses on workers).
trade bonus from higher production of goods, see above, no army support, and low draft - it is still a representative govt. very low chance of its cities being eaten cltrally and by propaganda.
and so on, i didnt plan it till i found out about the communal thing.eimi men anthropos pollon logon, mikras de sophias

What would be great would be a Forbidden Palace type building that affects communal corruption. Right now, as I understand it, that building has no effect. So a Socialist gov could have less corruption than a Communist one by having a building that only it can build. There's still that option with the reduces corruption flag though, so that might be an approach you can take.Originally posted by The Andy-Man

Here's what you can do. Create a governement specific building that only a Socialist gov can build, that has a 25% production bonus with no requirements, and allow for a tile trade bonus. Also you can add Reduces Corruption. This will compensate for the losses due to the communal model and differeniate between the 2 types.Originally posted by The Andy-Man

Just use the MultiTool, it will copy an existing building so the game will use those graphics. Then you can edit afterwards. Copying a Courthouse would be a good choice. As for the effect, I've never tried Communism, so I don't know what effect the Reduces Corruption flag will have.Originally posted by The Andy-Man
i will try it later (still havnt properly used the editor).
how much does the reduce corrption flag reduce coruption, and if i add a buidling wont i have to add a graphic
