  • The patch broke my mod!

    Hi, all

I scanned down the forum, but didn't see any other posts of this nature (I really hope I'm not the only one with this problem), so hopefully I'm not needlessly repeating anything.

Anyway, ever since I installed the 1.17 patch, I haven't been able to load my modified civ3mod file; it brings up a window reading "Invalid scenario version! Version 3.00 is no longer compatible."

At first, since my mod was (at least thus far) just a slight modification of the original civ3mod, with a couple customized civilizations and some tweaks to the barbarians to make things more interesting, so I went ahead and redid it (using the updated civ3mod from the patch as a starting point). I tried running that and got the same message; apparently anything at all that I create with the editor produces the same result.

Anyway, is there anyone else around who's had this problem and/or has any idea as to how to fix it?

The patch included a later version of the editor then inteded. You need to download the correct version
    http://apolyton.net/civ3/files/patches/Civ3Edit.exe (2.2 MB) or
    http://apolyton.net/civ3/files/patches/Civ3Edit.zip (916 kB)
If you don't have a working backup file there is not mush you can do about it. But I might be able to convert it back to 2.10.

Thanks, much appreciated! Like I said, the changes I've made were only superficial, so it shouldn't be too difficult to just redo the whole thing. Anyway, the fact that there is a later version of the editor is comforting to know; there are still a lot of things I'd like to be able to do before devoting myself to any full-fledged scenarios.
