  • Patch still doesn't work.

Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news for some of us, but I just downloaded the patch twice and after installing the patch the game won't start up. I can get the game to run without any patch but not with it. As one of the tech support people told me a few days ago so far the patches have created as many problems as they have solved. The fact that the game runs without the patch but not with it proves that the patch isn't the answer for many of us. Great going guys! LOL By the way when will my paycheck arrive for being a beta tester. One guy in tech support even tried to claim that he hadn't heard of anyone having problems in XP. Talk about denial. The last tech support just laughed and admitted that some of their people wore rose colored glasses. He told me that even he couldn't get the game to get past the splash screen for the industrial age either.
The tech support and patches for this game have been a F$^*%ing joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I have too much homework to do to try out the latest patched version of Civ3 right now, but chill out man, they'll fix it. In the mean time, just play v1.16. Please, there is no reason to be so rude to the programmers. They are under a lot of stress (as always) to get things released on time. At least the Firaxis programmers go back and correct their mistakes. Can't say the same for Activision and Call to Power II.

Please go back to your addition and subtraction problems. You said to go back to 1.16 ha ha I wish, The game will not run with 1.16 or 1.17 It will only run without the patches which leaves a lot of problems to deal with which the patches are suppose to correct. So screw you dic^*% wee%$&$ I expect to get a game to run correctly when I buy it or at least have it corrected very quickly. Don't give me crap about some other company being worse, that’s not the point. That is like saying I'm less of a liar than they are. WHO FU#%ing cares, you both are liars and I can't trust either of you. The point is do you put out a product that you know has a lot of bugs. Yes they did here or they are just a bunch of idiots.
The fact that this product has been so flawed shows there was very little effort given to testing! My message was in fact reporting the truth and I don’t think I was being rude. You must be from a different generation that blames everyone but themselves for their mistakes like the drunk who sues the vodka maker when he drives drunk and kills someone. When you advertise the product you are in effect saying that the product is ready for the general public, free from major flaws.
In this case WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!!!!!
