Can't download from Apolyton!!!

Argh!!

Ok, everytime I click on a link to download something, it comes up being downloaded as "attachment" and is a meaningless file. I thought at first it was my screwy computer, but I just bought a new computer and so that can't be it. Am running Windows XP. Is this something everybody knows about but me (have been gone for a bit...)

Any help appreciated.

Save as, and give it the right extension
