  • It's changing my scientists into taxmen

ok i guess i have it set to control moods, which seems like a good idea cause i have way too many cities to control manually....

not sure if that's the reason why, or if it's something else... but i make the guys scientists, the next turn it turns them into tax collectors... i even clicked on production tab under city governor and told them to focus on science, but that didn't seem to change anything

any ideas? perhaps i'm at some internal limit of max science production so it's wise to have them as tax collectors??? i have too much money already and i need science!!!

No, it's only because you have your Governor set to control moods. Personally I don't like using the Governor, I find it's rather stupid.

I have the same complaint. Scientists turned into taxmen irregardless of whether or not I use the governor. They were switched. I turned on the governor and 'ordered' science. They still were switched. No real difference as far as I could see whether or not I used the governor.

They will move around if you create a Settler/Worker I've noticed, because of the population loss. Usually though the game just puts everyone to working on the land, but it's quite possible the Specialists also switch. Just check your city anytime you make one of those units. I agree, it's a bit of a pain, I wish they were more stable.

well this is a catastrophe in a game with a load of cities.... cause it just isn't possible to keep an eye on them all. they flip way too often... the city governor shouldn't be doing it... he should just leave them the way i set them, or perhaps if i have never fiddled with them he can have the honor... obviously the best solution is to have an option in the governor controls menu, but that won't come until a patch..... *SIGH*

It's no big deal really. Just hit Enter whenever you create any unit and have a look around from time to time. You can't expect to run an empire on auto-pilot, you do have to keep an eye on things.
