  • Harvesting Forests

Ok, I know I took a while to get around to editing, But when I did I discovered some pretty things and some missing things, (as did everyone else so far...) In the Goverment types is a button, ADD and a button DELETE, So why isn't it in everything else, hmmm?

I haven't gotten the new patch yet, civ3.com patch 1.16wont load so I'll check another day, and besides I dont think I'd like to get it yet unless someone can tell me If I can allow forest harvesting with the editor!!

Y'see I use the forest harvesting to greatly enhance my cities, you get a worker or two to build forest, chop forest, it takes about 10 turns or so, and in game turns that anything from 100 years to 5 years (I haven't bothered to check) and thats about real for the age that your in, Hey, where I live There is 3 'forests' that depending on the year and the plot, will be a forest or open land or seedlings, etc etc, And you know that those trees are being made into furniture, housing, buildings, etc etc, I.e. Production!

So I ask again.... Does the new version allow the editor to turn back on the forest harvesting, otherwise I might just continue to play without the patch, Its not that good is it? Everyone else seems to be still complaining!

what did they do to foresting anyways? did they just make it so it takes longer to harvest? if so just change the amount of turns it takes to harvest under the "worker jobs" section of the editor.

They made it so you can only harvest a given square once (end of IFE strategy ).

bummer. i hope in the future versions of civ they stop hard coding every little last thing so we can actually mod to our liking. what if we wanted to create a terrain that could be harvested in 50 turns but brought in 1000 gold?

More customization less secrecy!

          wtf board's gone crazy??!!

            Well what can you do!

I'm hoping firaxis or Infrogrames or someone will create and complete a non hard coded editor, Add some of thier own designs or campaigns, and put it on the shelf, $49.95 or something, Nice book to explain how to work it, and some pictures on a few laminated card of all the aniamted troops/units/terrains they have included for the package, then later on in the year bring out the Civ3 Ultimate Edition, just like they did for Civ2, which contains the original game, plus each version of the patch so you can choose which one you liked, the editor and some extra new scenarios from us Apolyton experts, I'd buy it,

I prefer the reforestation altough the deforestation. Why they do not do something to prevent the global warming by the forest?
