    v.0.04 beta

    In this version I tried a new concept: To decrease late game boredom I introduce middle-game difficalty increase.
    patch v0.0-->v0.04 (about 2.3 mb) is on my site

    If you want to play increased difficalty setting you should choose scenario with the name of the country you want to play.
    (for example If you want play America choose ALmodAmerica.bic)

    What deos increased difficalty mean: there are building, tech and resuorce available only to AI in the middle of the game.
    Tech "Lucky" and resource "Luck" are for AI only.
    AI only buildings/wonder : Treasure (feudalism), Alien Temple(feodalism), Entreprise (Magnetism)

    New units in v0.04:
    Dragoon (Dark Sheer animation)
    landmine (pesoloco animation, one-shot unit, like cruise missile)

    Amfibious warfare now require replacable part

    English UU now longbowman. Common unit instead of longbowman is Crossbowman.
    Man-o-War is a common unit now.
    Fregate now require Astronomy

    Mounted_marksman now require
    Industrialization
    Iron
    Horses

    changes in v0.03:

    version v0.03 some rebalansing was made
    changed stat for high-tech units, Brain dissassembling have now required more prerequisites.

    United Nation require nuclear power instead of fission
    Pentagon require 3 army, reduce corruption (like forbidden palace and expansionist/military)
    Alatr of Blood now -4 culture, reduce corruption, +50% tax, resistant to propaganda, militaristic/expansionost/commertial. Coven have no shield bonus now.

    to use this mod you should have version v0.0 unpacked into your civ3 folder or installed. After that find patch v0.0 --> v0.03 it this thread (last message) unzip it into civ3 folder and run ALcopy_v0.3.bat

    Unpack all files into your civ3 directory and run ALcopy.bat.
    after that run patch_v0.02.bat and patch_v02b.bat

    Load scenario ALmod.bic and play...

    Important notice ---> Some modern High-Tech units can not be shipped by transport. They can be shipped by nuclear submarine only.

    some techs cheaper
    expirience hit points now 2,4,6,8
    fortress cost now 6
    Diplomacy/Spy mission reduced twice in cost (not counting build embassy/plant spy)
    pentagon require Democracy
    Heroic epic don't require army, cost 20 shields.
    Military academy increase size of army, require 2 armies
    normal Army have blitz ability
    Corruption reduced
    Army require 2 cities to support
    Bonuses vs Barbarian now : 250 200 150 100 50
    Worker can be now airlifted
    Settler can be now airlifted

    All attack/defence values adjusted to be more realistic (as far as it possible for SF mode of cause
    about x1.2 - 2 times for each era.

        Hm, I had got a resembling idea for a victory condition...

        Idea of new victory condition

        Whether you got it from me or not, I am happy to see the idea alive.
        The difference between industrial society and information society:
        In an industrial society you take a shower when you have come home from work.
        In an information society you take a shower before leaving for work.

          Hello s3d

          First, I would like to thank you cause I'm having great fun with your mod - the funniest I've played until now. I'm not keen on aliens, but I must admit that you managed very well the transformation of the game: firstly, I can play with "futurist" units, and that gives a new interest to a tedious modern era; and secondly the concept of alien cult, priestess and so on modifies the gameplay as soon as the game begins.

          So, thank you

          Now, after the rewards, the big PROBLEM I have with my current game. I got Iron, Horses, and Alien Ruins in the radius of my capitol til the beginning. The tile is exploited. But there is NO Alien Ruins in my resource box, and I can't build the War Maiden I yearn for

          Is that just me? There's something I didn't understand? Or there is another explanation? Please answer quikly, I enjoy this mod and want to go on in my game
          Oh... well... isn't this the place where I should write something funny and original?

            Can't get alien ruins to appear in strategic resource box

            I'm also having this problem with the mod. I have 2 sources of alien ruins in my empire and they don't show up in any of my city resource boxes.

            I have noticed that alien ruins always appear in coastal. Is this the problem? maybe there's no way to link them to the city?? I have even built a harbor and put a citizen on the alien ruin. No luck.

            Is this a bug or are we missing something obvious? If it is a bug, I hope it's fixed soon as I'm really liking the potential of this mod.

              I am trying to download this mod, however it always says the page cannot be accessed at this time when I go to download. Any help would be much appreciated, this seems like a great mod.

                I tried a new game; always the same pb. The new resources don't appear in the resource boxes, the mod isn't playable...

                I've often seen s3d posting on civfanatics, but less on apolyton, perhaps we should contact him there.
                Oh... well... isn't this the place where I should write something funny and original?

                  coastal is the problem

                  I have confirmed that having alien resources in coastal squares doesn't work. I altered the .bic to exclude coastals for alien resources and it all works great now.

                  In my current game i have 2 alien ruins (?? the first alien resource. I think it is ruins. not home to check atm) on desert squares and both show in the resource box. I am happily pumping out acolytes and now war mistresses too.

                  A new problem i have discovered is that the AI doesn't seem to use alien units at all. I've seen AI build swiss guard but never any alien unit. This gives the human player a gross advantage against the AI as the alien units are significantly stronger than equivelent age "normal" units.

                  This could be just that i havn't played enough to see alien units fielded, but considering the first becomes available with mysticism i would expect to see tons of them by now. And there a lots of alien resource squares in AI territory too, so lack od resources isn't the reason.

                  Guess we'll have to wait for a new version to make this mod worthwhile. It's a pity because i really like "fantasy"-type mods.

                    Well, both my sites are down . It's difficalt to finde a place for 10mb download, looks like I have to divide it to 500k pieces and post here...
                    About coastal sqaures: you are right, It will be fixed. About alien units: I have seen AI build a plenty of them, may be your is'nt researched proper techs...

                          Heh, it seems that there was an error in patch 0.02b, i fixed it and reuploaded in previous post . You have to install v0.0 and apply 3 patches:
                          v0.0 (10mb)
                          v0.2
                          v0.02a
                          v0.02b (ALcopy_v0.2b.bat)

                          If there are still problem post here. You start crush is clearly was an 02b error. (Pediaicon file should have palace wonder description). I'll make one single patch soon.
