I have a LCD monitor, Philips 180p (18") with a native resolution of 1280x1024. When i run civ3 i have to change the resolution to 1024x768. When running at this resolution, the display gets blurry and unpleasant to look at. This is normal, since LCD displays are meant to run at their native resolutions only. I know that civ3 only supports 1024x768, but I'd like to run it at my screen's native resolution, 1280x1024. I've heard that it's possible to change the resolution by altering some code. Is this true, and if so, how do I do it? Or is there another way to fix this?

By the way, I think Firaxis really ignored the large number of LCD owners out there when they decided to have only one resolution in Civ3.

add the line keepres=1 to the end of the civilization3.ini file. that will make it keep your desktop res.

should that fail, then in your display properties you should have the option to disable resolution scaling. you'll get a big black band of wasted space, but it won't be blurry.
it's just my opinion. can you dig it?
