I've been experimenting with modding lately, and I've noticed that if you open your civ3mod.bic, then "Save As," and put it in the scenarios folder with a new name, it's easy to swap your mods in and out.
This seems so obvious to me, but no one else seems to be doing it, and I hear complaints about not having modswapping. It comes up just fine when you load a scenario, I've had no problems with it. Am I missing something? Is there some disadvantage to doing it this way?
The one issue I have with it, is that I accidentally clicked on the map, and, even though I wiped it back out with ocean, the file now seems to be flagged as having a modified map. Because of this, when I load the mod, it asks me if I want to regenerate the terrain. I obviously can't distribute a mod like this, as saying no would start a game on a map with no land. Anybody know of a way to reset this? Clear Map doesn't do it.
