I'm new here. This may sound really stupid, but how do you obtain resources. I built a town by some iron. I had one of my citizens work on that square, but I didn't get any resources. Somebody please help me fast. I'm falling behind with the other civilizations.

If the resource is in your territory:
Build a road from the resource to your capital city.
If it isn't:
Do the same AND build a colony at the resource.
And connect all your cities with roads or the resource won't be available in the unconnected cities.
