  • Help with the Civ III editor

I must be dumber than a bag of hammers....

I have no idea how to edit a scenario.

How to make a map, place starting civs, place luxeries, and strategic resources, nothing.

I looked on the CD, didn't see anything that looked like an editing program, I looked through all the preferences, and through all the menus for an 'edit' button, and found nothing.

I did a search ehre, in the forums, and found loads of answers to questions, but all the answers were like "When you are in the editor, do this..."

I don't know how to edit? Can someone help me?

civ3edit.exe in the directory of Civilization III starts the editor.

I still need help with this too.

I'm running the 1.16f ver and I opened the editor yesterday, removed the default settings tab, increased the no of optimum cities field and was then given a file name civ3mod when I saved the changes.

How do I get the game to acknowledge this preference setting when playing. ? Also could I get a current game to change to these new settings ? Do I need to replace a file with this new file?

      Can anyone help please.

The standard file is civ3mod.bic in the civ3 folder.

So in your case any game from now on will use the new settings (and save games as well).

If you saved it as something else (or somewhere else), you have to start the game as a scenario and chose the bic-file when prompted.
