  • NV4_DISP.DLL Freaking

    Hi there.

Guilty as charged, yet another thread regarding video driver troubles. Getting me pissed of at the moment.

Listen, tried all the other hacks and tips I've found so far (placing an older nvogtl.dll in the civ3 dir is one of them), but my problem is something different I think.

    Here it is:
Mostly during startup, less often during gameplay (still too often though) the computer crashes, blue screen and claiming the nv4_disp.dll caused the instability. (only civ3 has this behavior, other games work without problems, I can get a nice system uptime as long as i don't touch civ3)

    System specs:
    Windows XP
    Dual P3 @ 933 mhz,
GeForce 2 PRO (64 mb)/Latest NVidia Display drivers
    1,5 GB ram,
    Soundblaster live,
    DVD drive,
    lots of other stuff.
    (certainly not underspecced)

XP sometimes wants to send a report after it has rebooted.
Stupid thing is, can not really reproduce it!
It starts, and then things are running nice and smoothly, and none of the problems you guys are having appear, or it just plain crashes with a blue screen pointing at nv4_disp.dll.
Happens even when I'm away, with civ3 still running.
Any one has an idea what's causing it? (and a solution to it )
    Thnx
