I'm really enjoying being able to add resources in Civ III, but I think I see a limit coming up if I start getting carried away. I haven't gone that far in the game yet, so I'm hoping someone can confirm or dispel my suspicions.
The way I see it now, there's only so many luxury and strategic resources that can be displayed in the city view at once. After that I run the risk of having the game crash. As I said, I haven't gone very far so I don't know if these areas begin to scroll once they're full, or whether the game starts having a fit.
Is there any resource freak out there who has made it into the end game and seen what happens to those areas? If the areas remain fixed, as I'm guessing, is there room for any additions, and if so how many? Frankly, I think it sucks that I can't use the bonus resources as a requirement for my buildings and units etc.
BTW, for those of you who are racking their brains trying to get a resource to appear on the map, I've discovered that the game will only recognize the first 24 icons in resources.pcx. After that, anything you add will be invisible. Rather stupid in my opinion, but that's the way they've done it.
