I'm a relative noobie to civ3 but I can't get my fighters or bombers to move, no right-click......nothing. Am I doing something wrong.

The way you get them to move is by either using Shift-R to re base them and mover the mouse over a city that has an air base and it will change to a red box, or over a carrier.
To bomb you hit b and depending on the range you will see a red grid and a bomb, pick where you want to bomb, and hitting S will allow you to contorl the skies.
