  • Can the no. of civs be expanded beyond 16?

    I used copy tool to add some civs to the game, along with a bunch of other stuff, and now the new game option gives me a page fault error message.
    Looking around, I noticed that none of the mods available add new civs, but rather only replace old ones, so I am looking for confirmation.

    The problem with adding civs is the foreign advisor art. It is taken from the EXE rather then from the pediaicons.txt. I hope that Firaxis changes that in the next patch.
    (They already read almost everything from the .txt - files, so it can't be too hard)

      Well, what if we use the existing art, and simply add new everything else (cities, UU, leaders, etc.)?

        The problem is that if the EXE looks for the art for cicilization#17 it will read past the defined strings for the paths, and generate invalid page fault.
