Another Crush

I get a crush always on the same turn (AD 1810). It's a huge map game with max civs at the beginning. I started the game on Classic Civ III , and loaded a save with year 1788 and continued playing PTW (1.21f). After my move on year 1810 I get a standard windoze Illegal Operation Error (so commonly seen). I loaded up PTW autosave dating 1800 and after my move in 1810 got the same result. So I tried loading my last original classic civ save(1788) and skipped moving up to critical year 1810 and there were no problems. Maybe it's the result of changing civ classic to ptw while the game is in progress. I don't use mods. Any ideas?

My comp specifacations:
P III 650 Mhz
256 DRAM
G-Force 3 Ti 500
SB AWE 32
Windows 98 SE

I'm including my PTW save from begining of 1810 (it's 'bout 380 kB)

No , but it seems to me like sth is corrupted in this particular save not in whole game. If sb would be so kind downloading it to check if an error occurs. (If you have the same version of ptw)

try a re-install , it should do no harm to your saves , .....

try to play it afterwards , .....

I reinstalled both - Civ III & PTW. It still crashes at the end of my turn(in this particular save of corz'). Any other suggestions?

hi ,

send the SAVe to Firaxis , uninstall , delete all files , look manually for all civ , civilization , firaxis , infogrames , etc ..... delete them , reinstall , get patches and play

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to post it.

I had a fleet of ships set up to autobombard a city, perhaps 7-10 ironclads and destroyers.

I asked for and received peace early in the turn. I did not turn the autobombard off, so the message pops up asking if I want to declare war. I click no, no, no, over and over but nothing happens so I have to go to war to end the loop.

Civ 3 error (unknown)

Everytime i launch the game an error message pops up saying "civilization 3 has caused an error in (unknown) Civilization 3 will now close if you continue to expierience problems, try restarting your computer" but when i hit enter it doesn't close another window pops up saying the same thing i click enter about twenty times and finnaly they dissapear and the game loads but when i enter into a game it does it agian and everytime i move or do anything it pops up . I emailed infragames but they still haven't responded in a week did any one else have this problem ever.

I am running on a Pentium 3 730 mhz i have all the latest drivers and i uninstalled and reinstalled the game several times i have tried everything on their faq sheet and i have not heard of anyone else having this problem.....why me?

Yes i reinstalled and completely uninstalled then installed agian nothing seems to work. I don't know what the deal is i am hoping that infrogames will respond to my email but they haven't yet and it has been a week.

okay , try this ;

unistall everthing , both civ3 and ptw , the look manually for folders like civilization , ptw , firaxis , infogrames , etc , .... you shall find several folders , delete them , dont forget to turn off all you security programs you might have on your comp , reboot (!) , get microsft or whatever os you have updates (!) > direct x 9 etc , .... reinstall civ3 , get the patch , reinstall ptw and get patch , note ; get the patches for your local version , dont install the latest us english patch on an uk english disk / software (!) , reboot , defrag and do diskcontrol , enjoy the game

and if that does not work , post again

I have done all of this i am running windows ME if that has anything to do with it. I have all the patches and still.

anway , check for updates right now , there are some new ones , ......
