Mandatory Time limit in game

I am new to this game and it seems to be a real winner besides a high learning curve and some problems that need to be fixed.

Anyway I was playing a game and it ended on me because of a mandatory time limit. Is there anyway to set a time limit in the game or a menu to turn off one before starting a new game.

No, the game will end on year 2050. You can continue playing after that, but the score will not be recorded.
