Does anyone know how to add a resource with the editor.

yeah with the editor its pretty easy. you will need to download the hacked civ3edit.exe file which is available in either the files or creation forum. rename the original to something else, then put the hacked version in the civ3 directory. Launch it.

then turn off the default rules by going Tools>Use Default Rules.

next go to Edit>Natural Resources. Click on Add and from there you can specify whatever you need to...use the other resources for examples. When finished, click close or Terrain.

next go to Terrains, and any terrain you want that resource available on, you have to specify it.

if you have new graphics, you have to add them to resources.pcx file located in yer Civ3>Art directory.

this is all you need to do to get it in the editor.

if you want an example, check this thread of some new resources.

to get the new resources into the game requires alot of tweaking of the Civilopedia.txt and PedialIcons.txt files...you would probably want to take a look at this next topic for that. it is very time consuming process to do this part right now, especially if you add strategic resources.:
