  • Foreign Advisor Screen Bug

OK I know this has been talked about elsewhere, I just cant find the threads anymore so I am starting a new one.

Has anyone figured out how to get the diplomatic relation lines to show up on the foreign advisor screen? As you can see from the screen shot attached, there are none, but I am at war with England, France, and Rome, I am at peace with America, Aztecs and Persia, and England and France have a military alliance against me, and there are other relations that should show too.

This is not one of the things fixed with 1.16f or did I miss it? It is harder to play the game without easy access to all this useful information.

    Can anyone help?

    Yeah! I've got lines!

Ok found the thread I was looking for (I want lines, dammit.)

It took a couple of tries, but I finally downloaded the new OpenGL drivers, and it looks like my problem has been fixed

And it looks as if some of the treaties I thought were in place have expired. This screen will be so helpful now

I didn't have any foreign advisor lines at all for the longest time... finally I was able to run GLSetup (after installing the Civ patch) and the lines appeared. Dealing with other civs is so much cooler when the foreign advisor screen works!

Unfortunately, the lines seem to disappear after I check them a couple of times.

I think the other thread said something like, if you use the military advisor, your foreign advisor lines disappear? Is that it? If so, when will this be fixed! Jeez!

        It doesn't work!!!

I downloaded glsetup and installed it, but the problem remains.

        It appear regularly when:

        1. start the game
        2. load your saved game
        3. press F4
        4. you can see the lines
        5. press F5
        6. press F4 again
7.the lines disappear ... to see them you have to start the game again

        I'm upset for this problem!!!

There is a problem with all OpenGL-drawn art in the first patch, but it seems to be fixed in the updated patch.

I reported this problem a few hours after the release of the first patch version. Note that all was working fine without any patch in the diplomacy screen.
To resolve this problem I have reinstalled civIII and THE LAST VERSION of the patch that is intended for W2K and WXP instead of the first V1.16f (downloaded from apolyton). I am running civIII under W98 and I experience now no problem at all.
