Recenter the map?

I've currently got a great Civ 3 game going but have run into a problem. As fun as the game is I'm annoyed with the world map display for this game. My Civ is based on the very edge of the world map and wraps to each side. The map seems to omit some of the area that appears just on (or underneath) the edges. This makes gauging political alliances and military situations a bit of a pain.

Does anyone know of a way to center the world map on a given location?

It can't be done. The MiniMap is drawn from x=0 to x=xmax.
