Is there a command line startup switch that allows the initial splash screens to be bypassed, and move directly to the main menu?

If you mean the actual splash screen, it's pointless to get rid of it, it is just a load guage.
However, if you mean the startup AVI movies, you can get rid of them, I just havent figured out how yet.

Can't you just delete (or move if you want to keep it) the intro movie? Then it should just skip it since it can't find it.
