  • UTILITY: Visible World Map from saved game

I made this utility program, run it against any saved file will make the entire world map and all bonus huts and enemy visible.

    For example:

    makevisible "c:\civilization iii\saves\test.sav"

Note that the file name has to be in double quotes and the backslashes are not escaped.

    Have fun

    additional notes

I forget to mention how this is used in regards with the game itself. I'm sure the brighters lots of you already have figured it out on your own.

    1. Create a new game
    2. Save it
    3. Apply the program to the file you just saved
    4. Load the file again, now the entire world map and all enemies and bonus huts on the map should be visible to you.
    Doh!

        Example Above

This is from his example above:

        makevisible "c:\civilization iii\saves\test.sav"

Open Explorer and Browse to your Saves folder with your saved games.

Click Start -> Run and type command. Press Enter.

The folder should appear (ie C:/Civ3/Saves) Type it in like the example above (replace test.sav with the saved game file).

It doesn't tell you anything but returns you to the command prompt. Now load the save game and it should work.

Great Utility!! If you type in the name of a SAV file that does not exist - or if you misspell it - the program will crash. It worked when I typed it correctly
Castle Wolfenstein or Civilization 3? So little time...

          Possible to post the code?

Would you be able to post the code for this utility, or email it to me? I would really like to see how this works.

          Thanks

            Hi!

Does this utility work on windows 2000? I run windows 2000 and can't get it to work.

Also, does it run after installing the latest patch?

            Thaks!
