How to Use World Map?

I am new to CIV. How do I use the World Maps that people post here rather than the one in the game now?

If you haven't found the answer yet in the Help forum. . . (the place where you'll usually find good answers).
When you download a map file, they will almost certainly be in winzip format. Assuming you have winzip, you can unzip the file to a folder, you mght prefer to make sure it lands in the game folder under the "progam files/infogrames interactive/civilization III/scenarios" folder. That is the first folder the game opens when you try to open a scenario, which is what you'll do when you start the game. Just find the "bic" (map) file you downloaded and you're in.
