Speaking of 'graphic glitches' ...
... how about this: when one of my units attacks - the others in the stack disappear on the screen! When the attack is over - they're visible again!

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly.
But if I do, then there is a simple explanation to this: Only one unit is shown at a time.
So when one unit attacks, it moves a little bit and you expect to see the other units behind. But as only the attacking one is drawn, it seems as if the others are invisible.
Looks funny sometimes.
