  • Spy question

I'm in the late game and the French started their spaceship.

I wanted to test out what effect trashing their capital had on their spaceship to see if it was the same as Civ II where they would just move the capital.

I went to check it out prior to my attack and it said I needed a spy to check on it. I searched and searched and could not figure out how to put a spy in france to check it.

    A little help please.

I already have an embasy with them.

You don't need a "spy" to check out a city. To check out another civ's city you can click on the "E" in the bottom right corner of the screen (it is with the "D" for diplomacy and the other buttons). You can also click on the star next to their capitol to get your options. Once you get espionage and then build and intellegence agency then you can plant spies and do other fun stuff like sabotage projects, etc. I hope this answers your question.

I did use the E option to check out the city.
But I was unable to check out the space ship progress, It said I needed a spy.

      I have built the cia.

Still confused, but thanks for trying. Maybe I didn't phrase my question clearly enough.

Oh, ok, sorry, I was confused, I thought you just wanted to examine a particular city. Anyway, have you planted a spy yet? To do this you have to click on the pentagon icon that is next to the city you built the intelligence agency in. That will let you plant a spy, then you should be able to get the options you want from the espionage menu. I hope I did better that time.

Ahhh, hadn't tried clicking on that icon yet. Figured it was just a designation.

I'll have to try that (and probably wouldn't have thought to try it). Mucho thanks.
