n00b question: Can you expose the map like in Civ2?

Just bought the game and am having a blast trying to compete with this AI hehe. But one thing that bothers me is I can't figure out if there is a way to expose the map. Instead I have to search new games for 2 hours trying to find a piece of land that is workable by sending my settler and worker roaming around for 40 turns (of course i save the game first at 4000 bc) until I can see if I'm on decent starting location.

I am pretty sure this feature (or cheat, depending on how you look at it) is not included. Although I could be wrong. I didn't see it in anywhere.

I agree, it is a "cheat", but for my enjoyment, I'd rather be starting in a position where I can play a long game than start building towns only to find out i'm surrounded by deserts and mountains while I have neighbors sitting in the lap of "luxury" 4 hours into the game.

I'm with you.. like to be able to "cheat" at first.. at least to know I got a good spot so I can learn this addicting game.
